Doubt I’m Dreaming demanded attention with his terrific debut win in the Listed St Albans Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on March 24 before the interest turned into dollars for trainer John McArdle.

The China Horse Club and Newgate Farm moved quickly to secure a quarter share in the son of Not A Single Doubt from McArdle and his business partner for an undisclosed sum.

The Group I Caulfield Guineas (1600m) is the long-range goal for Doubt I’m Dreaming. McArdle said the Listed Redoute’s Choice Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on April 29 was part of his spring plan.

“He’ll run in the Redoute’s Choice Stakes and then he’ll go to the paddock,” McArdle said.

“I wanted to give him one more run and I wanted to give him a look at Caulfield before the spring because he’s a big kid.”

While Doubt I’m Dreaming is a raw talent on raceday, McArdle said the youngster has handled the time around the stable since his Moonee Valley win like an old professional.

“It would be just over a month between runs and he’s just been ticking at home and he’s like an old gelding there,” McArdle said.

“He’s done plenty of work and he’ll have a good solid trial.”

McArdle said Doubt I’m Dreaming had a good hit-out as one of the gallops used to determine at track rating at Mornington on Sunday.
